The personalization process — 4 steps

The wizard has four steps and takes about two minutes. First, pick the music style — 9 options, from pop ballad and acoustic to rock, rap, Latin, oldies, dance and country. Second, pick the mood: happy, romantic, funny, emotional, celebratory, nostalgic, calm or epic. The mood decides how the song FEELS — the same style can carry a tearjerker or a party anthem. Third, tell the story in the free-text box: my son's name and a handful of real moments — the raw material of the lyrics. You also choose the voice here — male, female or a duet. Fourth, enter your email and pay $8.99.

From there it is out of your hands: lyrics first, then two complete versions of the song, both delivered by email in about 3 minutes. You pick your favorite.

How to gift the music

The handover is half the gift. Text the link at the right minute; play it live with a speaker and no warning; slip a QR code into a card or a small box; or add the animated gift page (+$4) so the link opens with a little ceremony before the song. You pay $8.99 once, and both versions plus the lyrics are yours. The $4 add-ons are optional: a gift page with a small animation, a video with your photos, a longer version, or a few spoken words at the end.
